Week 7

This week featured a visit to City Theatre by WPSD Artsbridge students. After a brief pizza lunch, students toured the City Theatre campus—meeting with several staff members and visiting both the Mainstage and Hamburg Studio Theatre spaces; as well as the theatre’s scenic, paint, prop, and costume shops and rehearsal facilities. City Theatre staff members spoke with students—explaining their jobs and how they contribute to the process of a seven-show season; while providing an overview of the structure and daily operations of a professional theatre company. Several staff members gave hands-on demonstrations of their work including Scenic Artist, Leah Blackwood—who gave students the opportunity to try their own hand at creating wood grained panels.
