ArtsBridge Pittsburgh Week 5 Having selected a topic (Different), students began to bring in research and discuss the various classifications of “difference” within our society. The ensemble also discussed who within society makes the decision about who is “different.” This week, students also began to improvise short scenes around the topic. As part of this process, students began to participate in moderated peer feedback sessions after the sharing of each scene. As audience members, students were required to watch attentively, assess the clarity and content of each scene, and provide constructive suggestions for improvement. As performers, students were required to listen and accept feedback without becoming defensive. This process aided students in developing their critical eye and a sense of the “big picture” as they constructed their performance piece. Drama students also had the opportunity this week to view Deaf West’s production of Big River as it toured to Heinz Hall in Pittsburgh’s Cultural District
