Week 1

During Week One, City Theatre’s Director of Education, Diane Nutting, worked with upper level drama students to develop a strong ensemble in preparation to build their own original theatre piece. We were excited to welcome back six students from last year, who were joined by six new students who brought their own unique ideas and energies to the group. The first week clearly demonstrated the commitment and intelligence of these students. Week One began with students setting individual goals for the project—which were adopted as goals for the entire ensemble. The students established goals regarding cooperation, work ethic, and performance style—as well as individual process and performance goals for themselves. The students also participated in a variety of ensemble building activities in order to develop the skills of trust, respect, cooperation and collaboration within the group..
