Week 10

With the help of Quest and City Theatre artists, the students established a “running order” for the scenes in their thematically based play. Work also began on the transitions between each scene, and the overall flow of the piece.  The students are continuing to refine the details of their play, and are beginning to add the “extras” to really make each scene shine.

When not in rehearsals, Quest artist, Monique Holt has been working with selected classes of WPSD students leading workshops based in creative drama and visual theatre.  Some student groups have created storyboards and tableau stories of popular children’s literature.  Other groups have explored improvisation, and still other students are learning basic language and hand-eye coordination through drama activities. The students have really enjoyed using drama to explore different concepts, and look forward to their time with Monique!
